Mar. 10th, 2015 10:00 pm Mom just spent the last two days on jury duty. She went in Monday morning dreading it, thanks to memories of being called to jury duty in NYC decades ago, where they treated them lousy, asked them more questions that are allowed in modern-day Virginia, and threw her off the jury the instant they found out about her PhD. Thankfully none of that happened this time, and she came back admitting it had gone better than she had expected.
Meanwhile, I have listened to a Taylor Swift song and found it expresses rather well the way I've felt lately about my country. It's kind of disturbing. It might be my next song after "Comes and Goes." I've brought my twenty-year-old electric keyboard down from the attic which can be programmed to sound like a whole bunch of instruments, and I really like how "Comes and Goes" sounds with a sustained harp, especially when I get into groove and can play without thinking. I've going to need many days practice before I can do that for the length of the entire song, but I've found the practice a good way to relax in the evening.
Upgrade to Internet Explorer 11 at work today. One of the websites I'm constantly using now continually has a javascript popup that's already gotten annoying. It's been kind of a trying week so far, especially when on the way home my normal bus failed to show and I waited half an hour in the rain for the next one.
