Figuring out how to use my newest video editing software's been interesting. Back during the summer it truly drove me crazy-but thankfully there was an update, and then it started behaving a little better. I'm definitely still figuring out exactly what I can do with it, though, and that had a bit of an effect on this Anissina & Peizerat montage. At least the need to convert most of the videos just get the program to import them meant all the video footage I used as the same size this time. Password is "anissina."

The sound qualify on my twenty-five year old keyboard was getting bad enough I finally decided to try getting a new one. I ended up getting the more modern version of my old one, with the ability to do quite a few things I might start exploring, and hundreds of voice settings-but not the one I'd been using for this song. I finally managed to find one that came close enough, and recorded this:



Just in time, too; it's very possible my sinuses are about to take my voice out of commission for a while...

Not sure how many montages from Sochi I'll do, especially when we might have the ladies winner stripped of her medal! But if there's no reason to think Ilinykh & Katsalapov in particular won't keep theirs, here's the ice dance montage. Password is "marlie"

Montage completed and saved, though I couldn't figure out where to begin when it came to adding effects, and didn't even try for the transitions. I've now purchased the software, and will try to figure out how to use it better.

This was made with a program which I’m sure is capable of all sorts of cool transitions and effects, and I might even be ambitious enough to try to put them to use with my next vid. But trying to get said program to do what I want stressed me out so much that for this first video made with it, I kept things very simple. Still it took longer than I would’ve liked; I would have preferred to post a tribute to all the pairs that split up this summer during the off-season proper, which it isn’t really anymore, but I suppose it’s close enough. I sometimes think it would be nice if we could drop the “dancing with celebrities” format for a season, the way they’ve done with Ice Age in Russia, and just have a whole season’s worth of pros dancing, maybe round robining partners the way they’ve been doing on Ice Age.
