I went for a walk in DC today. Too much of it left me feeling sad. So I came home and finished this:

I'm going to try to write four more ficlets after this, but it might end up being only three if the next two take too long. I had to make it a point to finish this one before the World Team Trophy required me to start taking earlier bedtimes tonight. At least I got in both the forgotten Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. WOC I wanted to get in.

Well, except I really did most of the Carol ficlet last week, but I'm posting two this week.

I'm starting to wonder how many of these ficlets I'll finish before this gets fixed.

I was thinking it might happen for a while and it finally did: I can't do my skating highlights properly, because NBC Universal is starting to block everything too fast. Honestly, at this point I'm relieved. I can start doing other things during my weekend instead. Like post this:

Tina Minoru, Six and a Half Weeks Later )

Not much snow fell here in Alexandria, but having not stepped outside yet, I'm making no assumptions about icyness. When OPM declared the government was opening three hours late today even before we all went home early yesterday, I thought it was a bit much, but given how cold it's out, I ain't gonna complain. Besides, it gave me a chance to finish and post this:

And my first thought was how the hell was I going to handle it for my ficlet series. So I first went to the MCU wiki, where they'd done the detective work and determined the first season happened in December 2017, so I figured the second and hopefully upcoming third seasons would probably both happen early enough in 2018 that everyone might even catch their breath before the Snap. At one point that night I started flipping a coin to see who lived and who died, but it came up tails too much, so I abandoned that and slept on it. The next morning, I decided who I had use for and who and what I didn't want to deal with, and started writing this.

Skating at Kettler was great. The ice was probably the most crowded I've ever been on, and it really started to get torn up by the time I got off, but I stayed on my feet the entire time. Maybe it's not the smartest thing to do with a cold, though. While on the ice, I barely coughed, and felt just fine. But when I got off, I was way too disoriented, and I think my inner ear was to blame for that. Plus I promptly started coughing up a storm. Got home in time to watch the second half of NBC's Worlds broadcast, most of the ice dance and all of the men. I wondered about them dedicating an hour to the latter, but they showed the two good performances from the penultimate group, and at least mercy-chacked poor Boyang Jin.
Finally finished Runaways tonight. Might have taken me a while, but given the multiple cliffhangers the first season ended on, it might be just as well, to shorten the wait for the next season. Now I'm all caught up and ready for Infinity War in a handful of weeks. Like with the last Avengers movie, my main concern is less what happens to the characters in it than what happens to the world/universe, and all the TV series' characters as a result. At least provided Natasha, the Wakandans, and the Guardians of the Galaxy survive, but I'm pretty sure Marvel's got plans to make more movies with all of those guys.
Also watched the Solo trailer. Leaves me more inclined to see it, and I probably would've anyway, but who knows.
