Jan. 3rd, 2015 07:52 pmTook the cats to the vet today to get their nails trimmed. We planned it all out. Mom brought the cat carriers down from the attic yesterday, so the cats would forget about them, then planned to try to shut them up in her office, where there are no hiding places. And a little bit before ten, with a 10:30 appointment, we thought both cats were in the office, and brought the carriers in.
The minute he saw them, without even waiting to be forced in, Ian began immediately letting out the meow of despair we only ever hear from him on these occasions. Though he didn't really fight being grabbed and put into the carrier. The real problem was that Clarissa actually was no longer in the office, and having been warned by his meows, had vamoosed on us. We finally found her hiding behind a bookshelf in the dining room. We had to force her out with a broom and then corner her in the kitchen. She's now picked up his habit of meowing in despair on route as well. She was slower to forgive us as well after we got home, though both now seem to be behaving more or less normally.
Later went out again to the comics store in Old Town to buy the first issue of the new Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. comic. It was much like the debut of the TV series, somewhat mediocre, but fun if you like Coulson, especially since thanks to the 616 universe being one where lots of superheros have been wandering around in public for decades Coulson was able to spend his childhood memorizing who they were.
