Hot Wash for Operation: Start Working Out
Jun. 6th, 2014 10:00 pmTreadmills are usable. I managed to figure out how to walk on one without too much trouble, and only had to hold on to the sides for a minute or so my first time. I am concerned, however, with how dizzy and disoriented I feel when I first step off it. The first time, when I went to change back into my office clothes, it was a minute or so before I had coordination enough to take my socks off! Also to really burn calories on them, I'll probably have to figure out at least jogging on them, but I have a big bruise on one knee and scrapes on both of them right now, so that can wait until those are gone.
Going swimming just before going home on Friday is one of the better ideas I've had in a while, but currently dealing with the issue of how I'm going to get all my hair under my swimming cap next week. My attempts this week failed spectacularly, and I was lucky someone else was willing to help. It meant I got out pretty late this afternoon, though I managed to catch a bus home from the metro anyway.
I now believe the scale at home is 10 pounds off, which means I'm not quite as overweight as I feared. In recent days my back pains have receded too, though they haven't gone away entirely.
