Went to see the cherry blossoms in DC today, going down to the Tidal Basin and attending a talk given by a National Park Service volunteer amoung the trees about their history and other details. Then walked around the basin, from the younger trees planted around the Jefferson Memorial to the older ones on the basin's other side. Peak bloom was on Thursday, and the trees hadn't lost too much since then. Took some pictures and tried to tweet them, but Twitter was acting up(or it might have been my reception, but this wasn't the only part of DC where I had trouble with it today). The crowds were a little crazy; anywhere where the lanes for pedestrians were thin got clogged, and I'm amazed I got to sit down ways on the metro. The trees on our street are in full bloom as well. I suppose I ought to go walk amoung them but my feet were pretty worn down by the time I got home today.
Kind of surprised I'm still getting kudos for "Hold On" on AO3. I got a lot before "Turn, Turn, Turn," aired, at which point I figured the fic had had its day, which I'd resigned myself to already; that was one big twist I'd seen coming since seeing the movie. But I guess people still want fics like it.
