Dad has been successfully surgered

Dad went on the operating table at 8 this morning for what was supposed to be an eight-hour surgery, and ended up going on ten hours because the doctors thought him skinnier than he actually is, which really worried my mother with the delay, but all went well. The cancer has been removed, there is still no signs of it spreading, he may not even need any further treatment, and he is currently being moved from the Recovery Room to the Intensive Care Unit, where he is to spend the next 2-3 days. My mother and sister sat for the entire time in the hospital before my mother came home after seeing him, though since I wouldn't have been much use I went to work, and will instead see him Wednesday. One starts to feel now that he is going to live, though the possibility of complications looms.
I think for now I will do a newscast on the Grand Prix assignments, and see how many plays that gets. I'm feeling quite upbeat tonight.
