Thunderstorms tonight

missizzyThere is a severe thunderstorm warning for the DC area for New Year's Eve, and I just heard a thunderclap close enough to feel scary. Sums up the year right there.
It's one of those times where it feels like each year has been worse than the last, and there are some pretty obvious ways 2025 could very easily be worse still. Though at the moment, it might be making me feel a little YOLO-y. One of my sister's gamer friends sent me a list of components with which I could put together my new PC myself, and I might just go for it. Finally know everything that's in there, be prepared to do upgrades in the future, and generally just feel more in control there. I'm not in control of too many aspects of my life.
Hells, if my sister and I can convince mom to switch to FIOS, which is now very close to becoming available for us, and I suddenly have a good signal again, I might even try streaming. Don't know if anyone will watch, but at least I'd be able to say I tried.
