Nov. 4th, 2023 05:06 pmThe good news from today: I got tickets for San Diego Comic Con. Got through the queue in only 15 minutes, and managed to escape the glitches that apparently threw way too many people out and to the back of the line; I was even able to get my desired Thursday-Saturday badges.
The bad news: my TV currently isn't working. Or at least its cable box isn't. I turned it on for the first time since we got the modem replaced to watch NBC's coverage of Skate Canada, and it declared something was wrong and I needed to tighten my cables or restart the system. Which is what I think Comcast did remotely when we called them, but it didn't do any good. They're sending a technician tomorrow, but first we will spend tonight removing books from a couple of our bookshelves so they can be moved for them if necessary. I might also ask them about my net possibly being a little slow on my computer; to the point that it's making watching Twitch steams a little more difficult. (Though possibly less during later hours; I've thankfully been having much less trouble watching Critical Role.)
I've had a little less of them, though, since I'm afraid one of the streamers I've been watching got hit with a patently retaliatory ban. She was modding for another streamer when she had to ban some homophobes, possibly made some joking comments about hating men, and was told that evening she was banned for 14 days for hate speech! Later that night they lessened it to seven, but still. It's a hard reminder about how fucked up Twitch's behavior has been in general.
