missizzyEarlier this week my sister discovered she had gotten her scheduling mixed up, and as a result I am now going to New York Comic Con alone. It really is not making itself convenient this year; the last day will be the day before the Depository Library Conference starts. Thanks to these two things, today I booked train and hotel for one, to come home Sunday afternoon, and I'm hoping Lyte will let me return my Sunday ticket at some point; if things follow the current pattern, the day should sell out and allow that. It'll be my first time at such a big event on my own, though I've traveled solo to New York plenty.
Mom has drafted her presentation for the Trollope society, and is rehearsing it in her office right now. She speaks of still wanting an extra blouse and skirt, since the conference days will apparently be business casual affairs, and I still need to get a change purse, but I'm starting to think I may just order the latter online. After so much fuss and stress over whether we'd be able to manage it, it feels kind of strange that our departure is now less than two weeks away.
