Jun. 17th, 2023 07:55 pmThis year at AwesomeCon, I ended up spending most of the afternoon in the company of a bunch of people from the local D&D meetup discord, as we gathered together at noon (I arrived much earlier, but needed much of that time to get through the long line to pick my badge up!), took on the convention floor together, and the guy who had gathered the group together ran a one-shot at three in which we all participated. It's my first time joining a gaming session at a con, but I think I might do it again for New York at least. He'd generated a bunch of premade characters off a website and had those sheets available, so I ended up playing a bugbear swashbuckler rogue, whom I kind of turned into a bit of a ditz. That, perhaps, was further encouraged by my seemingly inability to roll decently today! So I didn't attend any panels this year, but I figure I'll attend plenty of those at the bigger cons.
In fact, I came home to find my SDCC badge had arrived. My sister and I need to get our plane tickets this weekend as well, but that can wait until tomorrow. It may even take all of that before I feel recover from the exertion that today was...
