When it comes to traveling aboard, mom and I have been dealing with three troubling details related to it: one, a lot of countries are requiring your passports not expire for at least six months after your entry date, two, ours expire at the end of the year, and three, apparently the passport people are hopelessly backlogged right now and we're not sure if we can get them renewed before the Trollope conference at the end of August. Britain actually is not one of the countries demanding the six months; they're fine so long as the expiration date's after your planned date for leaving. But now we've heard they won't even let you on an international flight if you don't have the six month, regardless of where you're going. (At least I hope this is for international flights; I don't know how I'd get it renewed before SDCC in July!) We're going to have to try to get our applications in tomorrow and hope for the best.
I may have a date Wednesday evening. He's a guy who seems to be a good deal like me, and I'm feeling optimistic about him.

Passports are a pain aren't they? Both of mine (I have dual citizenship) are well out of date so if we do decide to travel in the future we'll need to do them early.

Best of luck on the date!
