Another IMDB update!
Jan. 15th, 2023 08:35 amLess than a week before we finally have the new season, and IMDB has released credits for two more episodes. And since I did analysis on the first six, I'll do it for these two as well, though I make no promises for the later ones.
The Fey Realm: Matt as Craven Edge and Umbrasyl, Billy Boyd as Garmelie, Cheech Marin as Trinket, Kelly Hu as Anna Ripley, Lance Reddick as Thordak. Matt is not credited for Craven Edge in "The Echo Tree," so it seems likely that story's going to come to a head in this episode. It's also a safe bet that Cheech is voicing the hallucinatory Trinket from Keyleth's mushroom samba, which presumably is Feywild induced. But looking at the other credits in this episode, I suspect the bear's not the only one to be hallucinated. Anna Ripley might of course just still be doing whatever she was doing in the previous episode, but I could absolutely see Percy hallucinating her. We may get either the real or imaginary versions of the two dragons. Only extra character we can be certain will be in for real is Garmelie, whom Billy Boyd is wonderfully perfect for.
The Echo Tree: Matt as Artagan and a Syngorn Guard, Billy Boyd as Garmelie, Troy Baker, Toks Olagundoye, and Jayla Lavender Nicholas as Syldor, Davana, and Velora, and Shendhil Ramamurthy as Saundor. Obviously this episode covers the visit to Syngorn as well as the confrontation with Saundor. Which makes sense, since all that's pretty much Vex's story, and this allows for it to build on itself perfectly. With presumably a entertaining interlude of Vox Machina traumatizing another hapless guard Matt. Also, I thorough approve of this arrangement of letting Billy Boyd voice Garmelie but giving Matt the overall character of Artagan.
