missizzyThings I have tried to explain to my mother over the past couple of days:
NFTs. My sister gave her the bare minimum explanation while we were watching Glass Onion, but then she read something that talked about them and wanted more details. Which I was not up to even understanding myself, let alone making understandable to her. So now I have an extra reason to really wish said things would go the fuck away, I suppose.
The international date line. She apparently failed to realize Australia's a day ahead of us, and missed a zoom meeting on Anthony Trollope because of it, and was very upset and confused. She even ended up going up in the attic to retrieve the globe she bought my sister and me when we were kids, the one that's so old it has the Soviet Union on it, but also the location of the date line. Though in the end it was more helpful to show her the World Clock website.
