It was a bit of a Marquesian week for me. After nearly three weeks of being unable to make the schedule work, my Call of the Netherdeep group played two nights in a row at its beginning. And now, of course, it's ended with the return of Bells' Hells.
The week's two sessions got our group first acquainted with Ank'Harel, which is now established as a truly huge cities with various distinct sections. Also a university where the head of it will send adventurers on a supposedly simply task of fetching a statue for lots of gold, not mention said statue will come to life and attack us, and then forbid us from returning to the campus to have a word with him about that. Being excluded from such a place touched a sore spot for Schist, too. Unfortunately, we then failed in the task the Cobalt Soul set for us, so we may be stuck working for him instead.
We did get some good rping in between these tasks, though, with getting hopelessly lost while looking for the bazaar, the group's two dwarves seeking out a less than sanitary brothel, and I and my fellow drow both visiting the local bathhouse and sharing a drink afterwards, and our poor kobold getting traumatized from them smelling so clean. He's probably had the most stressful pair of days so far, especially since our attempt to grab the mage wanted by the Soul for questioning ended with him having to dodge the local authorities and needing to get away from them before the invisibility spell wore off. One of the players commented afterwards that giving the party a vestige that allows the wearer to cast invisibility five times when awakened is pretty much a guarantee of such mischief.
Last night's episode left me grinning. Yeah, Chetney attacking the party as a legendary creature was pretty stressful, but their various reactions, from Fearne's sexy wolf to Laudna's noping up to the ceiling to Ashton's challenge being the thing that finally got through to him are really what we all watching this show for. Also, I wasn't expecting Ashton/Laudna to turn into a proper potential ship, but now I'm seriously wondering. All bracketed by Orym & Dorym feels, let's not forget.

And to top it off, the guest cast list for Legend of Vox Machina makes it look like they'll be getting to Ank'Harel themselves before the second season ends. Though see Kelly Hu on it gives me a sinking feeling of exactly where the season's going to end...
