Sep. 28th, 2022 07:37 pmThe guy who kept cancelling on us Wednesday night has now accepted he's no longer free then and officially bailed out of our D&D group. Which leaves on three players, and noone who can give me a ride home, and when it really would be too much to try to get home on my own at night. The DM is talking about looking for others, but I fear this might be it. In hindsight, it's looking like a minor miracle we at least managed to finish the previous campaign first.
At least I have Call of the Netherdeep online to tide me over. But I would seriously be interested in knowing the TPK percentage for the early sessions of that adventure. I think we only got out of one battle alive because our DM had some Kryn soldiers conveniently show up to help us. That one we rolled for, but after being exposed to a Ruidis-flare overnight, we promptly ran into a gloomstalker, and had the stealth checks gone the wrong way, the DM seemed convinced we would've all died.
The Ruidis-flare night was fun, though. I made sure to have Schist tell everyone about the red moon's reputation, and decided her patron told her it was no ordinary moon, but didn't elaborate. But much more fun was our fire-obsessed Kobold druid, rejoicing in the moon obviously being on fire to the point of near annoyance. Hey, as far as most of the world knows, we can't rule out him being right.
Perhaps we were supposed to travel with the rival party from the start? They left Jigow just as we did, and looking back, we probably could've tried that if we'd thought to. The session ended with us running into them again as the Emerald Loop caravan stop, and now we are teaming up to brave the Barbed Fields together, since even those in the group who don't know what those are have now realized we're going to need the help there! They in fact made that offer, though I don't know if that was from the module or from the DM.
