Went to AwesomeCon today, meeting up with a member of my D&D group for the last part of it. Most of the better panels and such happened on Friday and Saturday, but I did get to attend Sean Astin's Q&A, and also a medieval dancing workshop, where a trio of people from the Society for Creative Anachronism taught us medieval line and circle dancing. Sean's always impressed me when I've heard or read his words, and he was pretty funny at times, too. (Apparently both Seans from LOTR are in the habit of dying in a lot of the things they're in!) The dancing workshop reminded me very strongly of my experiences doing Regency dancing, with the instructors even calling out the steps-though at one point a number of people started calling them with them, which I hadn't seen in Regency dancing workshops. I also managed to buy a few things, including a Trinket funko pop!
Sunday's not the best day for cosplay watching, but I did see a few which stood out. The ones I can remember include Jessie and James going about together, a father dressed as Wreck-It-Ralph with his kids dressed as Vandelope and Felix, and even an Imogen Temult.
