missizzyMade my trip to the Smithsonian Zoological Park yesterday, despite the morning rain. It had mostly let up by the time I got there, though I think it still led to some of the animals still taking cover and keeping anyone from seeing much of them. I still saw plenty, though. Mom asked for photographs, and I ended up making a twitter thread, albeit with a number of subthreads when I attached further replies to the wrong tweet a handful of time. Of all the photos I took, my favorite is the last.
She'd wanted to go with me when she heard I was going in the morning, but they're still doing crowd control, and I'd bought my pass for a single pedestrian only. But since the bird house was closed, I'm going to want to be back anyway when it reopens, so we'll probably pay another visit then.
