It seems like this was a jinxed week, all right. Although my dental work was more or less carried off fine, and has even held up so far. By the time the weather disobliged me yesterday, I seriously considered just passing up the chance to see the cherry trees in DC for the third year in a row. In the end, though, I went anyway, and even quite enjoyed it. I still didn't go into the tidal basin, instead walking around behind the Washington Monument, but it was also the day of the Blossom Kite festival, so I was mainly looking at those anyway, and taking a handful of photos. Many of the kites were birds or butterflies, but there were squid kites as well, and kites with popular characters on them. (I spotted Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Grogu, among others.)
I also ended up ordering the Marquet Market bag, if only because what with the plastic bag tax being introduced, I've found myself wanting a new tote bag. They shipped it fast, but it looks like it's still going to take most of the week to get here...
