missizzyI'd been working a little on recreating Critical Role's character playlists on YouTube since that whole incident where Spotify went to commercial after every track, especially since even after they retreated on that one, the amount of advertising still definitely increased. But after the most recent events, I spent much of this weekend working on the Exandria Unlimited ones, and they are now all up. I'm pretty sure I'll do the older ones too, though that'll take a while.
It's been quite striking, watching how much money Spotify apparently lost over this, because usually this kind of pocketbook protesting can only do so much to anything big enough. But really, I think it may be because the service really has raised everyone's ire, and this was the perfect, righteous excuse. That it's costing them at least some of their product probably didn't help them either.
