missizzyThis weekend it's been so cold out that by the time we finished a lengthy grocery run I didn't want to set foot outside again, though if we do have that snow this afternoon I might take a brief walk in the early stages. Except apparently it's going to be more an unpleasant affair of ice. I probably wouldn't be going anywhere this weekend even if there wasn't a pandemic. It probably worsened the emptying of supermarket shelves as well. We weren't able to get a decent-sized orange juice, though we got enough to probably last through the week.
I finished episode 70 of The Mighty Nein this morning. It's kind of crazy, how much I know happens in the next eight episodes, though that one did set up for much of it. In of itself, this one had the emotional fallout of losing Yasha in episode 69, and one wonders how much the other players even knew about how willing or not she'd been, even if, unlike their characters, they did know she'd failed a wisdom save. The end of 69 had certainly been painful, but in this one you felt it longer.
And of course, knowing Matt, I think everybody, players and viewers alike, must have though the captured Scourger really was Astrid up until she finally turned out not to be. Thinking about it further, one might suppose Matt didn't want to waste her on a doomed prisoner, but I knew if I'd been watching that episode live, I would've thought it was her.
Instead, of course, I was watching with the knowledge that she wasn't, and of Essek's true motives for his current friendliness towards the Nein, and even the knowledge that the Bright Queen's typhros, a reason to question her orders the Nein didn't have, and they might have acted very differently if they had known. Hells, it's kind of crazy to think if they'd done things even slightly differently at one point or another in Bazzoxan, we all would've learned about the existence of Verin half a year earlier!
