Sep. 18th, 2021 02:35 pmI wiped my phone completely this morning; no even restoring to backup. The music app and Siri had started stopping and starting on their own, and restoring to backup hadn't fixed them, so it was either that or get a new phone. I even wrote out the names and numbers of all the contacts I'd want to put back in afterwards-which turned out to be unnecessary, since those came back once I'd logged back into my Apple account. I actually don't know if it solved the problem yet; I may not know for a week or so, unless if starts acting up again first. But it did get rid of the problems the phone's been having with iTunes since I replaced my computer last summer, which is a very good sign. I may have to put my music and podfics back on, but doing so's now easier.
It does, of course, mean I also have to redownload my apps and log back in to everything. I've had to reset way too many passwords, including my tumblr one-where the password I had written down didn't work, so I tried to reset it as said password, only to be told I couldn't reuse it! Still, it's proven a good chance to be rid of apps I wasn't using, and maybe find some better ones, especially for the games I've got on the phone.
Hoping also to get proof of vaccination on the phone. It'll probably be useful in New York to have both print and electronic copies of that on hand.
