I'm not even entirely sure what the hell happened at the metro entrance; I've heard a few contradictory things. They certainly didn't tell us anything, besides that there was police activity due to a "shooting event" and the entire building was going into lockdown as a result, and then later what was open and what wasn't and how we could get home. Though I just got another ride from a colleague; those have already still been happening on occasion.
First time I've ever had to contact people to tell them I was all right. That probably shouldn't feel like a rite of passage, but what the hell, we're way past that point of no return.

We got word of the lockdown before it hit media, but no details--it was mostly for those of us who have to travel there. I'm so glad you're okay.
