Apr. 3rd, 2021 08:43 amTurns out mom misunderstood how they were doing our taxes. Thursday we were just there to have our documents looked at and scanned, and answer a few questions. The tax preparers are working from home, and had our number to call us for questions. Mine called yesterday morning, and seemed to have gotten what exactly he was working on confused, after I had even signed a note about also getting my taxes from last year amended, but I am really hoping that's now straightened out. We go in again once they're done to sign off on everything, so I guess I'll find out then.
I am currently watching my way through episode 13 of The Mighty Nein, and now I think my watching it(as well as Thursday night's episode, to a lesser extent) is being influenced not only by what I know already, but also by my playing a Xhorhassian drow right now, which makes me more inclined to side with them. And really, you probably shouldn't even need any of that to recognize how distorted the view of the Kryn is in the Empire. Matt set that up really well, especially considering he had only a few lines from NPCs and the contents of a vintage porn novel with which to do it. Though honestly, I was left to cringe when the players started calling their drow opponent a crick; I was glad when Laura urged the others not to do that.
Since I knew, of course, they were going to end up with the beacon, and that was eventually going to save theirs and Yeza's asses, I was initially rather indignant, when I thought they were actually going to take it from Thuron, and get all of that because they stole such an important thing from the guy just trying to take back for his people what's rightfully theirs. I was very relieved when they ended up stealing it from the Crownsguard instead, except by then I was left to mourn what happened to the poor guy.
Tonight, I and my drow warlock will be getting our first taste of combat. At least she's more set up for fighting than poor Essek was, though fighting at level 1 when you've only got 10 hit points is enough to make anyone a little nervous...
