This week started with my phone case cracking open, forcing us to run to the Apple store in Clarendon and hope they were willing to repair it despite it being three years old, or, at the very least, that mom would not be forced to upgrade just for me to have a working phone. Thankfully it turned out to just be the battery expanding, and they only charged me fifty for a replacement. They even got it done in only an hour and a half, way quicker than last time I had a battery replaced. Though we still had quite a time trying to kill that time with minimal risk, since getting to that store and then home was too stressful to do twice. We ended up getting groceries and a container from a large and mostly empty store.
Today is even more stress, since we have to drive all the way to Fairfax to get to the AARP tax clinic, I need to get them to fix the mistake from last year that's been hanging over me this entire quarantine, and then mom has to get them to make sense of her extremely complicated taxes. All while we have to wait outside for safety reasons while they try to do all this solely from our documents! It's fine enough an idea in theory, but in practice, this is probably going to be hell. I really hope they fix the error; the day will be worth it if they do.
