We had our first staff meeting for a while this week with the head of our directorate, who showed up with news. The library remains open until further notice. And they're definitely not shutting the conference center down, since that's where they've started the vaccinations. We have only rough estimates of when we might get our shots, which for most of us are currently April-May. Which I will be very happy with if it happens.
There was also supposed to be an agency all-hands meeting Thursday morning, but even with most of us watching from our laptops at home, the threat of snow still managed to cancel it. Some things don't change even if the most extraordinary of circumstances. Now we've got to wait until March for whatever they were planning to tell us. And when there then wasn't even all that much on Thursday anyway.
There's no snow today either. Only ice. Mom and I ran out to get groceries before nine, out of worry the roads might become dangerous after that. Even then, the car windows were iced, and got so again even when we were in the supermarket, but at least we got back before the roads followed suit.
