Feb. 6th, 2021 09:16 amI finished episode 114 this morning. I knew beforehand first, obviously, that they would succeed in sealing Vecna, and also that Scanlan would give up their last chance to save Vax to keep him from teleporting away. I did manage some ignorance, including a bit by extreme will; I somehow managed to avoid quite realizing that stealing the hand thing Mr. Manganiello did actually was at the end of the episode, though I really, *really* should've. So that was a moment.
But it felt like a shock to actually see The Counterspell which I'd heard so much about, and see Sam's and Liam's reactions. In fact, the thing I should've anticipated, but didn't think of, was how much the feelings came out at the episode's ending. The characters holding hands for the sealing, the reaction when Sam rolled a clutch natural twenty, everyone being as worn through as their characters by the end of the episode. Marisha's devastation when she broke one of the trammels, making me really glad when she was the one who actually pulled the spell off. Matt's wondering that anyone watching would've stayed up so late for the end, and Sam pointing out that of course everyone did. All the "love you"s they said to each other afterwards.
I have also watched the first six minutes of the final episode. I know what happens next. I've seen much of it already. But I am not ready.
