Another Skate Drops

Sadly, allegations of sexual abuse in skating have now stopped being surprising. And really, allegations against Delilah Sappenfield were already less so. From the time she first rose to prominence in the late oughts, there have been whispers about her "factory" as the sort of place that leaves the less lucky of her students damaged. Plus, of course, John Coughlin was hers. Ironically, before this week, TJ Nyman was actually identified as a potential victim by some, due to relations between him and a much older training mate when he was still underage. He probably was. He'd hardly be the first victim to cross the line and become the perpetrator.
Still, that just makes the whole thing more painful. And the brass won't want to lose Sappenfield, not when our pairs scene is weak as it is. I suppose this might bring her down anyway, but don't rely on it.
Hours before I heard this story, I shelled out for Peacock Premium, so I can watch whatever big skating events happen this year. Now I'm wondering if I should have.
