New Thing to Ponder

I am now half an hour into the 50th episode of Vox Machina-where I've already seen the clip of what happens next, but I'm really looking forward to watching it again. But one thing about watching it now: my thoughts include contemplation of what'll be in the upcoming animated adaptation. Through much of episode 46, I was assuming the guest character wouldn't be, since he's the kind that falls victim to story condensing. Then Vex stole his broom, and I thought that moment might get him in. Then I heard the player proved to be a terrible person, so much so he definitely will not be in the series. So that just leaves one question: how is Vex going to get her broom?
I suppose the easiest thing would be for it to show up among the Briarwoods' possessions in the castle. Or she could even buy it; the animated series doesn't have to make it as expensive as it would've been in the original universe. They could even introduce Gilmore that way. (I think he may not be in the first season, especially if they skip directly to Whitestone to avoid the Tiberius Problem.) Or they could find another ally for her to steal if from, if they want to preserve that more questionable aspect of her character.
Or maybe she'll have it from the series beginning, hence no need for explanation. The fight scenes will probably be at least partially re-choreographed anyway, and she was using a flying spell in the castle; there's room for her to have a broom in it. It suddenly crashing down would be a dramatic way to alert us to magic around the ziggurat no longer working.
But if so, I invite everyone to contemplate one idea for how she could've gotten that broom: if Vax stole it for her. If she longed to fly from the start, and he often heard her talk about it in the woods at night. And while usually he only stole small things, and snatching something like a rare enchanted broom was one of the riskiest things he did at that time in their lives, he knew how happy it would make her, so when the chance provided itself, he did it. If she even scolded him for the risk when he brought it to her in the woods, but the first time he saw her alight on it, more joyful than he'd seen her in years, he could only think it had been worth it.
Yes, even Vax stealing things can lead to us drownings in feels.

I'm so sad he turned out to be a terrible person! Because yeah, that broom stealing was wonderful.

They could always replace the actor? I guess?

Given that, when the abuse allegations came to light, Matt actually declared the character was eaten by a fire giant, I don't think they're going to want him there at all. And he isn't a character necessary to the plot, in the end.
