We have a Christmas tree for the first time since 2008. That was when we tried to have a Christmas tree and a pair of kittens in the house, and needless to say, it didn't go too well. Now we are having it in the porch instead where they can't get at it, but it is a rather cold place to have it. My sister came over to help us buy and decorate it, and when she discovered we didn't have any lights for it in the house she insisted on dragging us to Target to buy what lights they had left in stock, which were these big bulbs that personally I think look appalling, but my sister insisted we cannot have a Christmas tree without lights. Gifts have all been bought and arrived and are sitting around waiting to be wrapped tomorrow.
Meanwhile renovations have begun on our bathrooms. I got home from work today to discover the back half of the house has been turned into a construction zone and everything in the back bathroom as well as most of the walls and the ceiling have been removed and the cats were fretting away in my bedroom. Ian still hasn't left yet. I was told he'd been worse earlier in the day, though.
Seems like bad news day for skating today. Tried to cheer myself up by finally watching "Gagnam Style." I may be the last person in the universe to watch it, but it's hardly my first exposure to KPop, or the wackier side of modern Asian cultures, so it was actually nothing I was unfamiliar with. Also DJ Earworm's year-end offering, which is one of my favorites of his so far.
