Jun. 23rd, 2024 10:58 amYesterday my sister came over with a pair of friends, and together we started the very long task of going through the big book collection and choosing which ones to remove and see if we can sell them to any used book stores. We worked for three hours, went through about 250 books, and maybe found ten mom was willing to get rid of. The house's big collection, not counting the books in my own room, has about 13,000. I also went through one of the four drawers below my bed and took out all the books there I'm willing to offer for sale myself. That task, at least, shouldn't take quite as long to get done.
Those books that went back onto the shelves afterwards are now very out of order, though the majority of them did go back to the shelf they were originally on. I'm not sure if anyone has any idea what we're eventually going to do about that. They weren't entirely in order before this anyway.
