(no subject)

My sister wants me to write a review of I, Tonya, but I honestly don't know how to write about it. It's good enough a movie if you don't know too much about what really happened, or even if you simply don't care. But while I understood some scenes of things that didn't actually happen were part of the point, the blatant deviation from reality in favor of depicting one of Giloolly's more ridiculous claims about the whack just threw me out of the movie completely. And meanwhile here they are carefully recreating moments like the triple axel at 1991 Nationals or Tonya's "whip her butt" comment, and one gets the feeling this movie wants to have things both ways.
And meanwhile U.S. Nationals starts on Friday, and I am not at all ready to deal with any of this. My sister also talks of further promoting my posts as we build towards the Olympics. I'm still not sure how much I'll be posting. Maybe I'll have a clearer head about it after Canadian Nationals, which looks like it's the last one, but I don't know.
