My dad has cancer
Apr. 30th, 2013 06:28 pmIn his esophagus. I just got home from work and found out. My sister was here, trying to cheer us up, and did, one even showed us a picture of a beaver one of her three year old niecelings drew for my dad, but watching the news did not help our mood, especially the segment on health care. Fortunately if Kaiser doesn't cut us off completely money should not be a problem; we've sepnt a lot of my grandmother's money, but more than enough is left to take care of any deductibles.
The worst part right now is not knowing the prognosis. He goes for a CAT scan tomorrow(which actually confirms the cancer, but it's extremely unlikely he doesn't have it), and we get the results on Friday. Until then we don't know if his chances are eighty percent or three. But what I've been reading just now doesn't sound good. This is going to be the longest week in our lives.
I don't know what's going to happen to mom if the prognosis is bad, or if he dies. I don't even know what's going to happen to me. She is being optimistic right now, but I'm terrified.
