Basic reactions to Skate America

I was already liking Nathan Chen's Rocketman free a hell of a lot, but now I like it even more. The men's free I enjoyed the most after that was actually Keegan Messing, for all the harder jumps it lacked this time. I hope he wins that World's berth.
What can you do with the ladies these days? It seems all too likely that the vast majority of the bigger titles will go to some 15 year old Russian kid who then will probably age badly. Beautiful as their skating may be, there's only so much you can appreciate it knowing that. Unless the likes of Alysa Liu can last a significant amount of time after aging in, and two years is a long time for her to hold things together before she does.
I have a whole newfound love for Daria Pavliuchenko & Denis Khodykin. But why, oh why, have Cain-Gribble & LeDuc come back from the summer having reached a whole new level of quality in their skating, only to start struggling with their elements for two competitions in a row now?
Could somebody please ban "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" from skating? Just ick. At least Hubbell & Donohue's free dance is a decent piece of work without any music choices that make you sigh or raise your eyebrows, which is more than can be said for their fellow medalists this week. Although Fornier Beaudry & Sorenson do make up for using that damn Buble with their RD, which is probably the best Bonnie & Clyde program anyone's done yet.
