May. 26th, 2019 08:39 amFinished Genlis de Stael's Corinne this week. I liked the first half of the book more than the second. The descriptions of Italy were impressive to the end, but such a great woman wasting away over a man who was completely not worth that got to the point of true absurdity. Now I've started Queen's Shadow, though only just.
Today, of course, is the French Open, and quite happy to see Roger take the court once again, although that means the return of nerves. We've already seen one crash-out today, although that does happen to Angelique Kerber on occasion, and it would truly be a shock if that happened to Roger right now. He's gone up a break even as I've typed this entry!
