May. 14th, 2019 07:01 amMy mother is currently in Cornwall, having departed for her tour of it yesterday. I'm on my own until next Wednesday. I think the cats might be taking it a little better than usual this time, but it's been less than a day, so who knows.
Really, things have been pretty low-stress the past couple of days. It especially seems so when I look at my Twitter timeline. I am now very glad that I've had nothing more to do with George RR Martin since reading his opinion of fanfic writers. The decisions people seem insistent on blaming the showrunners for I'm pretty sure were actually his.
On the other hand, I'm not sure I'm going to watch the last episode of Les Miserables either. I have managed to lose my sympathy for most of the characters still alive at this point, and I think I'd probably maintain some for Valjean, but I'm not even sure about that. Say what you will about the musical, it didn't have that problem. And neither Mr. Hugo nor Mr. Davies can use "realism" as an excuse when they push absurd romantic melodrama between three people who all barely know each other!
