missizzyI just turned on the damned football game just to watch the Captain Marvel trailer on a TV screen. It was worth it just for the sight of young Nick Fury cooing over a cat. One of a few pleasant things that happened today. Including doing holiday decorating at work, and we really got the library properly decked out this year, which we haven't done in the past. It was a nice way to break up a day when the internet was failing half the time. Also the news we're getting Wednesday off, due to a national day of mourning. I am currently feeling completely indifferent to the matter of George H.W. Bush, but I'll take that.
But then there's the figure skating news. Forget mourning a former president, we've got a dead pairs coach! Watched footage of him from just days ago, which was downright creepy, to think he's now dead. At least that was still up on YouTube at the time. Skating fans have been getting worried about skating videos and especially accounts getting taken down this season, and apparently a whole bunch of them were just struck. Most of the posts I've worked so hard on this fall are probably now mostly grayed out. It might even get bad enough I'll stop making them after all.
But there was still some funny news to come home to: mom just finished a volunteer teaching course, and her students gifted her with a Ruth Bader Ginsburg action figure! She even comes with a removable gavel. We're putting her up on the mantelpiece.
