Better Than Last Year, at Least

missizzyWent into yesterday with a general feeling of dread, getting my voting done in the morning twilight before work. A good deal of skating news at least meant I could distract myself by writing a blog before worrying about who would become my state's next governor and Trump's speech; I was pretty sure the former would happen after the latter, and after I had posted. After all, it had been emphasized how close the race was.
Instead I found myself resorting to turning CNN on just as I was finishing the blog up, trying to figure out who had already called the race for Northam, and by the time I finally hit the publish button, the answer to that question was seemingly everybody. Thus started an uplifting evening of watching more of the right people than not win for once, as those of us furious at Trump took it out on those of his enablers who were vulnerable. Gives me hope for next year, and maybe for this country in general. Though the next year will still be ugly, and there are many things that could happen for it all to go wrong.
And then another big withdrawal and attention to NHK Trophy broke just now. That's probably not getting it's one Ani & Izzy post; I'll need to go to sleep right after eating dinner and catching this week's episodes of Star Wars: Rebels.
More misbehavior from my phone. I'm a little concerning upgrading iOS in an attempt to fix it made it worse, maybe even on purpose, so we'll all shell out for the 8s and Xs.
