Apparently the incoming Secretary of Defense likes his books and his libraries. I assume Trump wasn't aware of that when he went for him. The Pentagon Library may yet survive the next four years. Though this has been a trying week at work anyway. We ordered our new front desk and other pieces of furniture from a company that does not seem to understand it when we tell them that people who bring big trucks in have to be vetted, and they must give us all the information that must be provided with enough time for that to happen. Everything's supposed to come in tomorrow morning, and right now I don't really know whether it will or not. It also seems a lot easier to get anxious and on edge over things going wrong than it was a month ago.
In between, I work at getting all our books with a JX call number moved, since Library of Congress classification no longer uses JX for international law; it's all KZ now. Went through our section on war crimes trials this week, including two books in need of rebinding, trying to figure out whether to put each of our many books on Nuremberg in the D section for European history or the KZ section. Those who do the more officially cataloging for them seem themselves to be torn about it, if the OCLC records are any indication. At least it's a fascinating subject matter, though nowadays it takes on a grim relevance. Also went through the Tokyo tribunal materials, but their OCLC records seemed to uniformly put them in the KZ section.
