A house without a kitchen

Since Wednesday night we've been without a kitchen. Mom has long wanted to have it renovated, and now she's finally gotten a pair of people doing it. First they took everything out, including the counters sink, the washer and dryer, and the disherwasher with all the dishes still in it. All that's been working in our kitchen for the past few days are the stove and the fridge, and even the former hasn't always been available. We've had takeout and we went out to a pizza place tonight, and took much of the pizza home for further meals. So far they've only retiled the floor, a process which required us to stay off it for a day after the tiles were laid, and to shut the cats up in the back part of the house to make sure they stayed off it too.
Mom keeps talking about how much better it'll look. And there were some things, mostly pipe-related, that it's definitely good to have fixed. But life without a kitchen is a massive inconvenience, and every worrisome when one has my stomach issues. The timing is especially bad when we're about to spend a week traveling in Europe where we'll also lack access to anything home cooked. Also considering this weekend. I managed to get articles about three of the many skating competitions going on done, but it wasn't easy.
Been watching Luke Cage one episode a day, so I'll finish it right before we catch the plane. So far I'm admiring it and enjoying it, but not getting too invested emotionally. But I've only seen three episodes so far, so maybe that'll change.
