Sep. 5th, 2016 10:04 amThe bindery continues to confound us. I had to prod them to get even confirmation that our books had gotten to their place. They then told us we would be invoiced for them shortly before their return, and that was the first time we would get a solid number of what rebinding them would actually cost. And when we're supposed to be told beforehand if any of them will be more expensive than anticipated, so we can decided whether we want to spend that extra money! It also prevents us from sending out the second batch when the first is returned, even though every extra trip their driver has to make to the Pentagon is a major inconvenience for them(they actually have multiple drivers, but only one of them's willing to operate in the DC area). I asked them at the beginning of the week if they could at least provide an estimate beforehand. I left work Friday having received no response.
I'm preparing the second World War I-themed batch as if it will go out anyway, and at the end of the month, since they're supposed to have a four-week turnaround. I don't expect to that to happen either.
