missizzyTook a picture of my mother with our two cats on Saturday. Uploaded it to DeviantArt about five minutes ago, and someone's already favourited it! I haven't gotten that kind of fast feedback since my teen years writing Harry Potter fic on fanfiction.net. Speaking of which, I came home to another review thanking me for writing "After Ten Years" as "a harry potter slash" though at least she conceded "I think" about that. It was bad enough when they thought I was the first Harry/Draco writer, but there was an early Remus/Sirius quadrilogy that I think came before that too.
Also, yipes for Mary Beth Marley & Rockne Brubaker! This is a crazy time for a partner to quit skating; he needs a new partner by September 1 to compete this year, and where is he going to find one at this hour? Unless Ashley Cain's still available, though I don't know offhand if their heights would work.
Mom is trying to persuade me to buy a new TV provided my job gets extended, and rearrange my room in the process, which really feels like more trouble that it's worth, though it is true not having a widescreen TV is inconvenient these days; they don't send signal that will display completely on your screen. It seems said job won't be permanent yet, but there have apparently been government employees that have been "temporary" for 30 years...all I know is I've worked my ass off, and everyone around me acknowledges it. But the people who actually need to approve positions like mine might not care to...
