Packed for the next three days in NYC this afternoon after Wimbledon concluded. Also printed my train tickets, and downloaded an app for buying theater tickets, although I'm still not completely sure I'll go to any, especially with the trouble I've had with feeling sleepy in recent evenings. When I'm on holiday, I don't usually get up before seven, but I don't always manage to actually sleep until then. Mom spoke about Shakespeare in the Park, but unfortunately they're between productions right now. She's also given me a New Yorker and a place where I can get a better breakfast than the one they serve at the hotel. It's the kind of place where I'm packing a towel, since I'm not sure the cheaper rooms include them. Just as well; our smallest case is still really too big for three days anyway, so there's room.
Too many people in this area set off fireworks these past two nights, considering it's illegal to do it privately in these parts. Some of them were even visible from my window, except there was a house and tree branches in the way. Mom and I have plans in place to go see Alexandra's fireworks in a week and a half, which celebrate the city's birthday as well; those are much easier to go see than the DC ones, and hopefully won't be rained out. Also hoping for minimal train complications tomorrow, especially since with it being the 5th I'm sure the train will fill up at Union Station.
