Apr. 15th, 2016 10:00 pmI am the lead on the library's new rebinding project. Now the the weeding is more or less done, and we have money available to get fixed some of the books that are falling apart, I am apparently in charge of organizing and culling which books get rebound and also arranging things with the bindery once we have a contract with one. I suppose I should have anticipated sooner or later they'd want me to oversee something like this, but that doesn't leave me with much more of an idea of what I'm doing. Still, so far the project has mostly involved just finding candidates, and we only just determined that initially we're going to stick to books under a certain size. This week I looked through the US History section from general history and diplomatic relations to the Civil War. Going through the Revolutionary War/Founding Fathers section earlier this week left Hamilton on constant loop in my head for the rest of it!
Speaking of Civil Wars, I read spoilers for a certain aspect of the upcoming movie: apparently Tony and Pepper are going "on break." The one MCU OTP I had currently afloat, and they're wrecking it! (Yeah, Fitzsimmons might get sailing soon, but I won't rely on it; I wouldn't be surprised if one of them was the one killed off...) I suppose I should be grateful they're leaving room for them to reconcile and stay together for the next two years before we're due to hear from them again, but then the same damn thing will probably happen come the Infinity Wars because of the obvious reason for it: they don't want to deal with Pepper in the movies anymore. I suppose it's possible Paltrow is being too expensive, but I fear it's because she's the kind of female character they don't know how to deal with her because she's supposed to be a love interest and she's established herself as someone who can instead get the shit done herself and, if inserted into the plot, would steal all the accomplishing things from the other characters unless they could devise a way to prevent her from doing so or write her completely out of character. I fear we may never see Pepper again. So I was depressed over that today.
