Computer change

Wednesday of week before last I got up, turned my computer on, and was faced with a crazy blue screen. Later I was able to boot the computer up in safe mode, but that was all. Eventually it was determined by my mom's IT person(who is now going to be my IT person too) that it was going, and a new one was ordered. It arrived a week later and was installed last Thursday. Thankfully the forewarning made it easy to backup and then transfer all my files, and the intervening days even gave me the opportunity to try to get them a little more in order. Still a new computer always has its complications. I am still lacking Notepad or access to the command prompt, as well as a couple of other programs, an attempt to locate the CD drive without asking IT guy where it was ended very badly, and today the sound suddenly decided to stop working. IT guy and I still need to meet to solve some of these problems, for which I probably have to take off from work(and when I really need to be watching my leave time).
To further compound the week's aggravations, my headaches have suddenly come back and gotten more and more nonstop. I'm not sure if it's my sinuses, the construction now going on around our desks at work, or some combination thereof. A normal-strength painkiller only partially helps, but I really don't want to have to resort to the perscription-strength.
Have finished a Captain America fic, but not sure when I'm going to post it.
