Back when mom was vaccinated by our medical provided, we drove to their Falls Church facility, and she was in and out in half an hour. Now they've moved their operations to a trio of tents set up on the top of the parking garage of their facility in Tyson's Corner, and half an hour may be the amount of time you take just to get through the lines outside them. Though apparently we might have been there during the busiest time; mom saw the garage empty a bit as she waited. When we reached the person taking our temperatures, the woman in front of me expressed her concerns for her that she was late for her official appointment, and said woman assured her so was everyone else.
It would've taken longer for me anyway, because when the woman injecting me asked me about past reactions to shots, and I told her about the possible panic attack, she told me to spend more time in observation. It didn't help matters I was visibly anxious by the time it was done. And then about five minutes after sitting down, my left hand went tingly, and I think I went into hysterics. Thankfully I got it under control and didn't have a full-blown attack, so while I've been having various pains in my left side since, I'm counting that as a win.
I'm pretty sure they were still giving everyone Pfizer; it was preprinted on our cards and all the booklets they gave us were for that. So now I have to do it again on the 30th. I'm holding out hopes my nerves won't behave quite as badly the second time around...
