Mom and I looked into getting absentee ballots yesterday, but she doesn't really want to vote absentee. She doesn't trust them to count it, and she's never voted absentee. I certainly remember the Daily Show segment that did not paint a very hopeful picture of absentee voting back when I was at school, but of course at the time I had no choice. I'm afraid we're still abandoning the post office; she's still going to switch over most of our bills, especially after what happened on Friday. We just have to hope this isn't what leaves Trump in power.
And when I'm now a little more put out at Comcast, because they went and changed our channels around again, and we lost quite a few. Including Disney XD, which isn't as painful as it would've been a few years ago, but it seems I really will be watching most of my Duck Tales delayed again.

I've done vote-by-mail/absentee before, and while it's a little nerve-wracking, I'd otherwise have been trusting a computerized voting machine to properly register and record my vote. Which is a whole different kettle of dubiously trustworthy civic fish, as it were. It's less stressful if you take your finished ballot back to an official dropbox instead of just putting it in the mail.
