Oct. 13th, 2025 07:55 pmAlthough I'd continued to play the Sims on my old computer for a number of months, yesterday I finally installed it on the gaming PC and moved by save file over. I was then greeted by the game declaring they didn't recognize my video card. So far this has not caused any actual problems. I even managed to download a build from the gallery for the first time, as I moved my main family into a bigger place in a world where they would hopefully stop getting fined for using too much water. But I've now seen indication it might start lagging if I try to install any mods-and I'll probably want to at least install the command center mod all the streamers seem to use, because that one is clearly crazy useful. On the other hand, while I've purchased a lot of expansion packs now, I'm unlikely to buy anything more for a while. Maybe even ever, but probably I'll succumb to doing so at some point, unless of course EA's new owners ruin all of their old games as well as their new ones.
I've also been watching more of the various Netflix shows I've been slowly getting through with the thought of canceling the service when I'm done with them, but now I'm starting to hesitate on that. Today I finished the eighth episode of the second season of Lost in Space,, and I must wonder if the show's writers ever thought we weren't going to side with the damn robot at the end of that one. I know I'm siding with him.
