I probably should've realized it was going to be another week of technical disaster around the time I plugged my new phone into the computer for the first time, and it promptly erased most of the music it had copied over from the previous one. I was foolish enough to try to restore to backup in response, which didn't even work, and I think restored me to a 2021 backup, even though that makes no sense. At one point, when I was trying to log back into my gmail, and the verification messages weren't showing up, I started really panicking that the phone had stopped working entirely. It turned out Google just had my phone number wrong, but the phone's been a bit glitchy since.
That was after I had already played through half an hour or so of Baldur's Gate, but been brought down by serious lag issues. Since then, I've tried playing it with both launchers shut down, video quality lowered in various ways, high priority even set in the task manager. It's still lagging. I also tried Vulkan, but that made the game crash while loading. So far it's been annoying rather than game-breaking, but I'm pretty sure I'm about to hit the first significant fight, and I don't know how that's going to handle.
That wasn't even all that hit me this week. Monday even went so badly I ended up going to bed early just to escape the day. The days since haven't quite hit that low, but there's been a moment or two like I felt like they might...
