Mar. 29th, 2024 07:58 pmMom's walking continues to improve. Monday, on my sister's urging, she even walked from the living room to her office unaided. Today, she walked outside unaccompanied (though with the outside walker) for the first time, getting all the way to the mailbox and back, a good block and a half. She's even started carrying her coffee herself. Typing remains a bit more of a problem, but she's finally getting occupation therapy specifically for that.
She and my sister also went dishwasher shopping on Wednesday. The new one's on order. Normally we could expect it by April 8, but the collapsed bridge up in Baltimore might actually delay it; they ship a lot of items to this area through that harbor.
I had multiple people wishing me a happy Easter today, which honestly felt kind of weird, because said day is basically refusing to put itself on my mental calendar. This Sunday the weather will be very nice, and it will be a good day for further mom walking. I'm a little sad to miss the Cherry Blossom Festival this year, but the neighborhood is beautiful right now.
